Larry Rumburg

District Governor-Elect

2012-2013

Larry has been a member of The Rotary Club of Ulysses, KS since 1992. He was the Club President 1997-98. Prior to becoming President he was the Club Secretary-Treasurer for several years. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and continues to support the foundation as a sustaining member.

Larry is a Certified Financial Planner and he has an Engineering degree from Colorado State University. He and his wife, Kim own and operate the Investment Center of Ulysses. Since 1992 he has provided financial planning services to Southwest Kansas and the surrounding area. They have three grown children.

His family has hosted several Rotary Exchange students over the years and he has been associated with the District Youth Exchange Committee. With his club he was active in sending two outbound students.

He is active in his community with the Chamber of Commerce serving on the board and was Chairman for two years. He is active in his church - First United Methodist Church. He was a board member of the Western Kansas Methodist Foundation and is a director on the local Care Home Board & the Area Mental Health Board.

In January of 2006 he and several District 5690 members went to Panama and worked on a water project with the Chitre Panama Rotary Club. He was a GSE Team Leader to Australia in 2007 and was an AG - Division 1 2006-09.

One of his most memorable club experiences was initiating the now annual Duck Race. It was started to raise money for RI Centennial project but now is a successful general fund project. In his spare time he enjoys golf, cycling and flying. He truly believes that "Rotary helps ordinary people do extraordinary things!"
