District 5690 - District Biographies - Assistant Governor Division V

Dean has been a Rotarian since 1990 and is a Paul Harris Fellow and sustaining member of the Rotary Foundation. He has served as President of the Winfield Rotary Club and served as Chairman of various committees for the club. He is known as “Mr. RYLA” and founded RYLA for District 5690 and continues as Chairman for the District 5690 RYLA. He is a Assistant District Governor. Dean and Cheryl have hosted many GSE team members; Youth Exchange student, Russia Exchange, and other rotary exchange members. Dean has been quoted as saying, “I’m not a Rotarian yet but I’m working on it”.

Dean was a co-founder of Leadership Cowley County, Treasurer for the Cowley County Fair, and Inaugural Chairman of Planned Giving for American Red Cross Mid-Way Chapter. His “Thought for the Day” is a cherished part of every organization.

Dean and Cheryl have been married for over 37 years and have two daughters, one a Veterinarian and one a nurse. They have 5 grandchildren that will all eventually attend RYLA when they get old enough. Family and grandchildren are a huge part of their lives.

Dean is a graduate of Pittsburg State University and Southwestern Graduate Trust School at Southern Methodist University. His vocation spans over 37 years in trust and estate work in banking and currently he is Senior Vice-President and Senior Trust Officer at Corner Bank.

He enjoys helping people, golfing, and attending Kansas State football games.
