A member of the Rotary Club of East Wichita since 1992, Sue has also been a Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas mentor, a Reality Fair volunteer, 25th club anniversary committee member, committee member for East Rotary Foundation fundraiser, and she has held the offices of Program Chair, International Chair, Secretary and president in 1997-1998, and has been Rotarian of the Year three times. She was the first woman to hold the position of President in a Wichita area Rotary Club. She was Assistant Governor for one year in 1999-2000 and again in 2010-2011.

She has four cats and is married to Bill Pearce, currently host of the program Straight, No Chaser on KMUW. She is Director of Administration for Piping & Equipment Co. Inc. and has worked there for 36 years. She is responsible for the administrative and financial side of the business, a heavy industrial contractor, working in the chemical, petro-chemical and power industries throughout the Midwest.

Her other activities have included volunteering with the American Red Cross Midway-Kansas Chapter, where she developed and was chair of the Ride For The Red event for six years, a board member since 1995, Board Chair in 2001, and Chair of the Building Committee in 2004. She has been a member of PEO chapter EM for 35 years and a member of the Wichita Jazz Festival for 30 years. She also volunteers at the Sedgwick County Zoo, where she served as a board member since 1994, as Zoobilee Chair for six years, Grim Reaper at Night of the Living Zoo for 15 years, and was the originator of the Summer Concert Series and has served as chair of that event for 12 years.

Sue loves to garden and travel worldwide, and has experienced four African Safaris.
